"The friendly staff attended to my luggage as soon as I walked into the open doors. They upgraded me to a window room and it was big and clean. Anything I asked, they were very helpful and friendly using the translator so good if your Chinese isn't good! Breakfast has a great selection and a Balcony for the smokers. Very clean and the most important is that it's very close to the night markets - just down the road - and Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Spring! Location is amazing. Also close to the Dunhuang Museum."

"Overall great location and great stay. The hotel is located about 10-15 min walk to the night market, and is already located on a side street off a main road. There are shops and restaurants nearby. The hotel itself shows a bit of age but doesn’t seem overtly dirty. The lobby and hallways smell of cigarettes, as do practically all chinese hotels. Surprisingly though, my room did not have any odor, which after 9 different hotel stays this trip, was a much welcomed gift. The carpeting in the room did not seem overtly dirty but I also doubt there is extensive cleaning in between guests. Like other comments have mentioned, the single use towels are weird and I highly doubt the economics of using those instead. The shower was a bit finicky and would occasionally spray hot or cold water despite adjusting it to a suitable temperature. The breakfast was decent. There are a fair amount of non chinese guests and the hotel seems to be welcoming and prepared to host them such as having english handouts regarding your stay."

"We stayed 2 nights. The hotel is very nice, clean, and centrally located. The staff was very friendly and helped us with all our requests. In particular the girl with the black glasses at the reception, whose name we don't remember, was wonderful. We like to say Thank you Again We highly recommend this hotel if you are in Dunhuang."

"Highly recommend! This hotel offers airport or railway station pickup free service. The hotel location is excellent and not so far for Mogaocave, the dunhuang night market, Mingsha Mountains.. The hotel room is super clean, wide, and has comfy.beds. Also, the hotel provided everything necessary Especially the hotel staff are very friendly and responsible for guests. We stayed there for 3 nights 4 days and the staff always helped us for traveling. They called a taxi for us to travel to tourist spots Even if they don't speak English , we communicate by translation application on the phone. They also bring us to pharmacy and supermarket. How they are wonderful and thankful. If we go there again, we will definitely stay there again. I traveled all over the world for 20 years, but I never met like the hotel and staff. Totally never forgetable hotel and staff. God bless forever! Thanks again!!!"

"The hotel is well located in city center and provides complimentary pick up/drop off service from train station. There is a direct bus which goes to mogao caves right in front the hotel- making self transport a breeze. Room is spacious and nicely designed with a large bath tub. Apart from the hotel hardware, what really stood out was the extra mile services offered by the staff. There are 2 staff who really shine. Firstly, Ms tong tong （彤彤）was very patient in explaining all the touristy sites around and how to get there. She helped us book performance tickets so we could enjoy some discounts. When we enquired about transfer to liu yuan, she not only checked for all the information online for us but also personally went to the bus station to find a driver who goes to liuyuan. We're so impressed with her extra mile service!! Really kudos to her great personality and service. Next staff to mention is Mr li (李师傅）who picked us up at the train station. He suggested some dining places to us and offered to drop us off at mogao caves when we bumped into him at the hotel lobby. Overall, highly recommend to stay at this hotel."

"We got free upgrade to the suite so that was nice. Very pretty river view and not as noisy as some of the reviews I've read. Probably because the weather was getting chilly. Room was very spacious, even for just the size of the bedroom alone. Bed was comfortable and not too soft. But I will say that the light switches in the rooms and also the smart toilet seat were very confusing. Strangely, it had a large bathtub area, but a separate and very squished shower closet. The water didn't quite drain properly also. Breakfast was okay. But considering how the city really is just a town in the desert, I'd say it's actually pretty good. The local restaurants are also options, but we had to get up super early for day trips, and didn't feel like freezing outside to look for food when it's still dark. Side note, the night market in town is nice but not much going on outside of that area. The hotel is not in the city centre, but since the city is small, taxi is the way to go. We actually end up just getting the phone number of one of the taxi driver, and called her whenever we planned to head out. I chose the hotel based on aesthetics and was not disappointed. But our suite was in the end of a very long hallway, so get ready to walk if you are not near the elevator."

"We were not impressed, especially for the price. We've stayed at hotels that are similarly priced and expected much better. To be fair, the hotel itself is beautiful. The architecture, the room interiors, and the breakfast and drinks to get were all very nice. However, the problems started at arrival. We were told the afternoon tea was cancelled and the restaurant was fully booked because of an event. No one told us this in advance, which was very disappointing. The check-in was disorganized. The receptionist (who was also the manager) turned away to help someone else while I was still talking to her. She didn't give us our room keys, saying the bell boy would open the door. But when we got to the room, the bell boy had to walk all the way back to get the keys. The bell boys were actually very friendly and helpful—the only good part. To make things stranger, the female manager called me a few hours after we checked out. She asked how the event affected our stay. I was busy and rushing around, and the call worried me—I thought I had left something behind. Asking for our opinion after we left was too late. They should have asked us during our stay, or better yet, informed us before we even arrived. So, while the place is beautiful, the poor communication and service ruined the experience. We wouldn't stay here again for the price."

"Hotel is very nice. The location is close to the Shanzhou Night Market and it takes roughly 5-10 Minutes by walking there. In one of the side alleys are hidden gems, namely restaurants that do not appear on Google Maps or Apple Maps. I recommend to explore the surrounding area. Also the hotel is very clean in general, however my room has stains of previous travelers in the rug. I recommend to thoroughly clean it professionally. The staff were excellent and super friendly. Check In was very easy as foreigner and the overall service was very good."

"This is the best hotel for me. I have been travelling in China for 20 days now. I passed through Shanghai, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Huangshan, Xi’an and Dunhuang. I felt happy to be at this hotel that I could recommend everyone who comes to Dunhuang could stay here. Staffs and managers were so caring and try very best to solve any problem, any request. When I said goodbye I got a goody bag full of water, juice and souvenirs for my journey. I’m so touched and glad that I stopped here. Location is great, 10-15 minutes to night market and easy to access. Laundry machines are great help. I enjoyed best hospitality, best facilities and best location."
